His first stakes winner. He ran the sh!t out of that horse by the way. That was his 6th start in less than 7 weeks and he had him right back the following week. |

![]() The favorite in the 1970 Met Mile - he was 2nd beaten a head in track record time. Reviewer was an injury prone speed horse - but very fast and a good weight carrier.
![]() Name what he is most famous for. |

![]() I actually haven't watched the Ruffian movie yet - but someone told me current PID jock Fransisco Torres played Beaza in the movie.
"Bull" Torres has been DQ'd from more wins than any other jock in PID history and he's only ridden about 100 total races here. He pulled off a rare double earlier in the meet - getting DQ'd on a winner in back-to-back races. Cheap DQ's imo - and one of the agents say the stewards have an agenda against him - and I guess they want to take it out on the bettors as well. |

Speaking of Baeza, talk about bad luck. He was the regular rider of both the Phipps monster Buckpasser and the highly touted Graustark in the same year, and yet neither made it to the Kentucky Derby. Not sure if he picked up another mount for the race. |

Outside of handicapping books, I'm not much of a book person I guess. After about reading four pages - I'll jump to chapter 8 and read a few pages - than if I'm real intersted I'll read backwards a little - if not, I'll just read the last page. I like the way The Art of War was written. No nonsense and to the point. Plus, I can listen to it on Youtube while I'm napping. |

![]() Looks like the winner earned it - 22 and change opening quarter - and 3rd place was 7 lengths out after that 46.20 half mile. Not many Derby winners make their final prep at Bowie anymore. |

![]() Noticed that, too. 3 in there came out of the Bowie race. What race was that?
