I'm a big time right wing Republican but the party is self destructing by trotting out guys like Newt. As much as the country is down on our current "worst president ever" Republican's need to offer more than the Newt's of the world in order to get back in office. Maybe we need some new blood like Chris Christie, minus 50 lbs.

I've always respected fiscal Republicans..I may not agree with their position, but I can understand their logic. It's the social right wing that is the problem and is what will keep the fiscal right from ever being able to advance their cause. If they could ever just figure out that most Americans don't want to be socially engineered, they might get somewhere.

And I'm not sure how you can say that the country is down on President Obama? Right wingers are and will always hate anyone not like them, but when he wins again next year you might think twice about what "most of the country thinks"
