I don't want to get into the middle of the polytrack arguement. It appears to be a very intense topic here. However, as far as this one element -- I am sure there are many who feel we've gone from one extreme to the other. Perhaps. There was one extreme before. Now there is the other. Things are not always as they appear. Before, the track was what the track was -- period. From talking to a variety of people, I get the impression that this is something of a "work in progress" type of thing.

Don't forget that aside from the polytrack, the turns were changed and other elements as well. The turns are now symmetrical. There is quite a bit at play here, with the track being a huge factor, I think there will be changes as time goes on. I think there is a learning curve here -- for handicappers, trainers, jocks, etc. Anomalies, extremes, etc. are distored early in the life cycle.

In addition, having not followed the meet religiously, I would be interested in analyzing the "speed" as it relates to splits, times, fractions. I think that will change over time and can also take away from the new bias that exists.
