looked VERY good on his debut - i was half shocked to see a hyped horse actually perform on track. Will be Juddmonte's Derby horse if they skip it with Frankel who looks bomb proof for the 2000!

Yeah, even I (living in the woods of Maine) had heard about how awesome this horse is supposed to be.

I still don't know why they sold Empire Maker, but, my opinion matters naught.

Why can't Frankel run on dirt?

Because Tom Amoss said so? Well, I guess he should know more about the Kentucky Derby than Henry Cecil.

He trained Backtalk to an impressive top-20 finish in last year's race.

well you can look at the way he runs and the action with which he runs, none of which suggest he will run effectively over dirt. There is nothing wrong with that, but to say hes the best is premature. Nothing wrong with being Oasis Dream

What about the way he runs and his action signify he can't run on dirt?

By the way, Oasis Dream was a 5-6f specialist. Frankel has never raced shorter than 7f in 5 starts.

For soon-to-be fans of Native Khan, because of the Fallon suspension Peslier just got the mount...

Apparently he's passing trains now. They say, of course, to take that with a grain of salt, but the image made me smile. I can't help thinking of Bobby every time I read about this horse, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Thanks for that - can't wait until Saturday.

From the way the article potrays him as a near "run off", he might be the first 2000 Guineas winner who's odds for the Derby go up after the Newmarket race.

Of course, thanks to Tom Amoss, we know he won't ever handle the dirt, but I wonder if the colt will stay a mile and a half.

Haha, I loved the bit about the train!

But possibly the best Cecil has ever trained? That's a huge call.

Any time you'd like to borrow my daughter and be subjected to watching any of those ridiculous "real housewives" shows let me know.

Some of the people who are fans...

Would you be if his name were Sheikh Mo?

Just sayin...

(Go, Native boy).

(Oh wow there's a horse named Slim Shady? I wonder if 'Em knows...)

I"m gonna say Native Khan / Roderic O'Connor / Pathfork or Frankel

If Frankel is ridden too confidently after making the lead, Casamento has a good shot to run him down late.

Is the 2000 Guineas going to be on TV or the internet live anywhere?

No chance. If he wins by less than six lengths, I'd be shocked.

I read somewhere he's only 7-2 to win by more than 2 lengths. Still, he has pulled hard in his last couple of races, and they've made mention of trying to "settle him down" in his recent training. You can get away with that sort of behavior in those 5- and 6-horse fields he's been burying but he'll face a full field tomorrow and I'm not so sure he'll be enjoying that "geared down" finish he's used to.

He should win, but his jock might have to work on him a bit late.

I just think the horse is a freak.

His trainer said last time was the time he might lose due to being short off the bench against at least one Group winner.

He ran greenly and pulled off easily. He had a ton more horse. I think he can get the Arc distance. Horses with that kind of stamina don't often lose for being a little keen at this distance.

We'll know soon.
