Lady's Secret is hardly your typical Oklahoma bred.

As for the other one, that's still better bred than your normal Nybred until just 6-7 years ago.

If Franny Freud had not been hurt she'd have been a factor in the F/M Sprint and she's by NY sire Freud, who has Deciphering Dreams in the Juvie Turf. Rightly So (F/M Sprint) is also a NY bred as is Silver Timber who is a legit candidate in the Turf Sprint.

Cupecoy's Joy (f 1979) wasn't exactly chopped liver. Won the Acorn-G1, Mother Goose-G1, led the Kentucky Derby field for a long way until she wore out. Still finished ahead of Wavering Monarch (Haskell-G1) , Cassaleria (El Camino Real-G2), Bold Style (Rebel H) and Royal Roberto (Everglades-G3).

Mr. Right (c 1963) won the Suburban, Woodward, Santa Anita H and Dwyer, etc. (No grading in those days. People knew what the important races were, they didn't have to be told.)

Gander (g 1996) also dates to more than 6-7 years ago. He could run with the big boys.
