i'm still waiting for the first person to ask me about her. even my family members haven't said a peep.

Or any other race horse or race, which is too bad.

thats not true. friends and family know about the dt horses so they ask about them. also. spring classic horses get asked about. thats why i mentioned the lack of zenyatta questions. matter of fact, a coworker is friends with a trainer, the head honcho follows racing....he even mentioned that we made the new keeneland poles. weve talked about racing, tracks weve been to, etc.

They only know about the DT claimers because you talk about them.

By what logic on this planet would Zenyatta not be considered a great race horse if she wins the race on Saturday? I'm mystified by that. Sure, she could lose and she may hate the Churchill dirt. It's nearly impossible for me to post in the racing forum, but it's pretty comical. I can guarantee you if Z happens to win this race within 0.3 seconds after the race will come the first post on how it was a horrible Classic field by standards and it was completely meaningless. And it logically follows that the person who posts that first should absolutely be betting her with both fists if that is indeed the case.

Who was saying it's going to be a great Classic?

I think it's a somewhat poor field overall. I just think if she wins, it is what it is and she can certainly be considered a "great" horse. I learned my lesson last year. I thought she was vastly overrated based on the crap she was facing and her very slow synthetic races. She turned it up when she needed to and blasted what in all liklihood was a sub standard field. In the end if she wins it, she's pretty good historically. Whether that's top 10, top 30, top 50 or top 100 is for smarter people than me to discuss. I have zero reason to think she won't run as well as she did in the Classic last year.

I was at a polling station supporting a local candidate on Tuesday when one of the guys supporting the opposition asked his cohorts if they had seen the 60 minutes bit on this "amazing horse, can't remember the name". I crossed party lines to set him straight that even a win in the Classic would not make her "better than Secretariat".

Anyway, a lot of people do watch 60 minutes.

Probably true, but before you become a bettor, you have to at least be aware of the sport.
