What's the problem? With S Cal tracks going back to dirt, all the POLY losers will become DIRT winners, AGAIN.
![]() Surely they can withstand a couple of percentage points increase. It's all good in DIRTland. ![]() Repeat after me: 'The real problem in racing is POLY'. |

I always love these arguments
Under the proposed increases, California’s takeout for more complex exotic bets would still be lower than other jurisdictions. ] Except less, pay more but learn to like it because someone else has it shi_ttier than you .

Are these serious comments or just sarcasm? Losing TP for the winter meeting would be devasting for the thoroughbred industry in Kentucky. Thats alot of people without jobs. Truly sad.

Sounds like politicians on the left side of the aisle....raise taxes on those who are the lifeblood of the economy. Yeah, that's gotta be a good idea. Too bad the racetracks don't have money mints in the back.

One thing is certain the democratically elected politicians in Sacramento have never turned down a tax so this is a done deal.

They just raised the take two or three years ago, and of course with the support of the unions and horsemen.
