I not only like her chances to win today, but I don't see her losing the rest of the year, BC included. IMO, she's a SERIOUS racehorse that we can expect great things from, and obliges those who back her from here on out.

The Kansas City Royals have more say in this year's World Series than Quality Road does with how DEVIL MAY CARE performs.

i think devil may care is a safe single today. some serious horses in the distaff division, but i think she's the top 3 yo. she just seems a cut above.

Two possibilities after watching the 2nd race (the 1st race of the day on the dirt):

1) Curlinello is a monster
2) there's an inside speed bias, again

ha ha ha

Gee, yet another FAST HORSE that gets wiped out by a horse that consistently runs AGAINST unfavorable setups.

Can't wait to hear Pletcher's excuse for this one.

You'd think the plug could've at least gotten 2nd.

I hate to break it to you - but Blind Luck was faster than Devil May Care on everyones figures coming into the race. 104-to-100 on Beyers and she had two negative figures on Thoro-Graph - where DMC had none. I haven't seen the Ragozin's for the race ... but knowing how they are about cutting races loose and splitting variants - I would expect that they might have Blind Luck and Harve De Grace's last race at Delaware significantly faster than any of Devil May Care's races.

Really? I don't have the actual data but I seem to recollect she got a 94 for the Oaks? And, apparently, from what Serling said on the prerace show, there was additional, significant, rain just before the Delaware race and there was a question about that figure. Is that the 104 you're referring to?

So all this hype abut DMC by pretty much everyone, was just that, huh? Go figure? Since it's now apparent that ALL thought BL was the better horse. Should I bother looking up some of your comments about DMC?

Probably not.

Her 104 was for the Fantasy. . .

She got a 99 for the Delaware Oaks, which started as a 94 and was then changed to a 95 before being upgraded (correctly) to its current level. She got a 100 today.

No - her 104 Beyer came in the Fantasy - the start before her Kentucky Oaks win. By comparison, Rachel Alexandra won the Fantasy with a 101 the year prior - albeit under a full nelson hold.

Everyones figure for the Delaware Park race is worthless no matter what they came back with because of the bad weather.

Devil May Care is a very good 3-year-old filly .. but she's been found out at 10 furlongs. Her sire Malibu Moon is a good speed influence who was fragile and never raced beyond 5 furlongs. Her younger half bro Regal Ransom is a need the lead type. Devil May Care's top Beyer of 100 came in the Bonnie Miss and her final 1/8th was 13.50 seconds and she was punch drunk. She's basically a miler - but against company like Biofuel and Acting Happy she can beat them further. That's clear after today.

Blind Luck - style wise anyway - reminds me a lot of her dam sire Best of Luck. He was 15 lengths back in the Belmont that Lemon Drop Kid won and closed for 4th place. He won the Stuyvecent at AQU from about 20 lengths back. Just a one dimensional deep closing router who can stay.

No problem. I obviously wasn't alone in liking her today (see place and show pools). The whole time prior to post I was frantically looking for your opinion of the race to possibly link up with your picking prowess for a nice, hefty exacta. Alas, your opinion was absent. Didn't really matter anyway b/c DMC ran like $hit, just chased and faded.

Seriously though, as bad as my heavily opinionated assertion seemed to look out there today, I'd much rather take a stand and lose (not a first) then to be a self proclaimed humorous, monday morning quarterback. Feel free to post your thoughts before the race is what I'm saying.

The jury is still out on the filly. Let's hope she comes back okay and just had one of those bad days that every horse encounters.

Well said, I'd much rather be someone who looks like a complete idiot posting their opinion (see the International Festival of Racing thread for my gems today) then a douchebag who finds joy in mocking someone's poor opinion.

Nothing like drillin' them over those synthetics that thank God they're taking out so REALLY GOOD horses like Blind Luck don't have to look average over the stuff...
FTFY

...if you seriously believe the reason Blind Luck won today is because she trains over synthetic, you're even more hopeless than I thought. Blind Luck won today because she's the best 3yo filly, period.

I suck at handicapping, my last winning week was......well its been a long time.

I just thought your opinion was so poor it deserved special recognition. Keep it up I am sure you will find a 2/5 shot who will win for you.

I am sure, too, just as I'm sure I could handicap races better than you with my eyes closed. That says ALOT, seeing how poor I've been playing lately.

Maybe one of these days, you'll chime in on one of these threads before the race is run, and we all might be smarter and richer players for listening to you. But until then, stay posting the same stale $hit in a Zenyatta thread or something.

Or take me up on a handicapping contest, loser not being allowed to post on the board ever again. Put your laughably bad opinion up on the line against mine. Loser lurks forever. You'll probably chickenshit and pussyfoot your way out of it with a 'chalk eating weasel' cop-out with some clever line that you've conjured up over the past few hours. Let's see if you have any real ''move up's'' or you are just the lame person that you've painted yourself out to be all these years. In or Out, homey.

It seems like we might see Blind Luck, Devil May Care, and Havre de Grace show up in the Cotillion at 1 1/8.

If they run against Blind Luck again - they better allow DMC to get much more early separation than they had yesterday.
