Depends upon the interest level of the family I think the tours offer alot of advantage to the "less horsey", the tour guides know how to make it really interesting for everyone, the drive time farm to farm is filled with explanation/pointing out points of interest, etc.

lexington is heaven for folks into horses...im in nashville and make the run up at least once per keeneland meet...look forward to it every year
