Oracle,
I hear you. For somebody that wants to get some good ones, this sale is the "sleeper".
You might be interested in #24, 50, 187, and 58 (Good and Tough).
For anyone that wants a Kelly Kip, filly 287 is there.
And for Freud believers..91,118,139,198, (colts), and 2,14,68 95,127 (fillies).

As you probably have heard from some, "How do I get a nice horse and get into the game?"
Well, here's the answer...find your way to Nelson Ave, backstretch at Saratoga Racecourse on Sunday, Oct 15...it starts at 11 AM.

DTS,
the funny part was that two weeks after my friend bought the broodmare her name is Disco Vixen, the half sibling got black type, lol, Square Dancing whose now earned more than 100 K. She dropped a foal by Roaring Fever or Raging fever(I forget which one it was) so for a grand you got a broodmare and a foal. Pretty funny.

Oracle,
In the past, this sale has been a disaster to some consigners.
Some of the mares going in are to Artax, 204, 255...Catienus 188, 215,238,247,253, Freud...too many to type. Say Florida Sandy 240.
Get a catalog at the ny racing office and you'll see what I mean.
These are all mares in-foal.
btw, I might be able to set up a stall or two at the farm if you buy one or two. Just pm me and I'll give you the rates (cheap).

I forgot to mention one that intrigues me...#215 Spanish Garden.
She's by El Prado (Sadler's Wells). I haven't seen her but she's a young mare (2002), consigned by Ramsey Farm.

Disco Vixen, unraced, is nicely bred. She has an incredible 5 reines de course on her bottom line. Her foal by Roaring Fever, Disco Fever, is also nicely bred, imo. An astute purchase by your buddy.

#215 looks solid on paper as well.

Sumitas, that is hilarious!

I was just getting ready to post about 215!

I'd kill for an El Prado mare like that.

last year the prices in this sale were just incredibly low. like oracle said, look at what his buddy got for $1,000...a young well bred mare with a solid bottom line in foal to a son of Storm Cat...the list goes on.

this #215, Spanish Garden is in foal to Catienus and that is a nice pedigree. Catienus had success at Turfway last meet on the poly.

#232 the Affirmed mare (1990) has produced 6w from 6f...she is carrying a full sibling to stakes placed Cat's Roar (Tomorrow's Cat)...i mean, she commands a look.

then there's #244, Angel In Harlem (General Meeting), who was bred and raced by David Cassidy...in foal to Greatness...go for it folks...fly into Albany, NY and the sale is a 1/2 hr. drive north at Saratoga. Enjoy autumn in NY. http://images.dvdempire.com/gen/movies/245473.jpg

Nearly froze my bum off today, but nonetheless enjoyed the sale.

Few things about it; Thunderello gets an enormous weanling! I recall seeing a two year old closing weekend (heavy favorite who lost to Tiz Wonderful) that was much much larger than the rest of the field too. Haven't seen much by him otherwise.

Hip 94 by Birdstone of all sires, really loved this filly. If he can get others like this the 10K is going to be a huge deal.

Wiseman's Ferry, decent looking weanlings...wish he had stayed in NY. Hip 80 was a great looking filly, took the sale in like an old pro.

I liked what I saw by Hook and Ladder.

Favorite Weanling of the sale, was Hip 99 c. by Desert Warrior
