There's quality and balance in this group.

How many more were needed exactly and where were they supposed to come from? It is a Gr. I and one of the most important soph filly events of the year... That other horses didn't care to go up against these is their problem, not the racing departments...

Here were the 17 nominees. Most are running elsewhere or just ran. The 4 that have 'no excuse' for not running are MDN winners only:

MUCH REJOICING: Regrouping after poor Acorn; ALW likely, Prioress possible..
SILVER LA BELLE: Uncertain..
STATION HILL: Uncertain..
TIZAHIT: Uncertain..

Recently ran/Going elsewhere:

CHAMPAGNE D'ORO: Waiting for the Prioress..
BLIND LUCK: Waiting for the DEL Oaks..
BELLE OF THE HALL: Just won a sprint stake at PHA..
BONNIE BLUE FLAG: Won the Cinemine May 31..
EMBUR'S SONG: 3rd in the WO Oaks June 13..
HAVRE DE GRACE: 2nd in the Go for Wand June 6..

In the Iowa Oaks:

QUIET TEMPER Mark H. Stanley Dale L. Romans b.f.3
SEEKING THE TITLE Charles E. Fipke Dallas Stewart b.f.3

In the Mother Goose:

KATY NOW Mill House Todd A. Pletcher dk b/.f.3
CONNIE AND MICHAEL Brooklyn Boyz Stables Kenneth G. McPeek b.f.3
DEVIL MAY CARE Glencrest Farm Todd A. Pletcher b.f.3
