ILLINI BREDS SPREAD IT AROUND: Prairie Fest at AP looked to have potential to be dominated by Chicago institutions Kirby, Janks, Catalano, Boyce or Block and their riders, but instead yielded 6 different sets of winning connections. Pretty cool. I like when that happens. (Note that Janks did win 2 other races on the card and Block one.) Looks like it was a nice day at Arlington with a variety of prices, pace/styles and close finishes.

ALL STIDHAM, ALL OVER: Mike Stidham had a notable day... In addition to sending the brilliant Comedero, now 9/8-0-0 ($506,700), to the easiest of wins in the $400k Red Legend, Workin for Hops was a good 2nd to Paddy O'Prado in the CNL Turf at 9-1, Tizaqueena DH'd for 3rd as 2nd choice in the All Along, claimee Secret Kin won the Issac Murphy at AP and A She's Adorable annexed the Rooney at DEL.
