His "give-outs" were never like this. Guess everyone deserves a score. He is still the best interview on satellite radio.

more importantly with Satish is not his handicapping but that he is willing to bet with both fists bigtime unlike the other "bluebloods" who scoff at betting and bettors in general and are either too stupid or too high and mighty to realize that betting is what makes their sport go round.

My favorite Satish moment was when he was hanging out with the Jess Jackson, Cunningham group and all the Curlin owners before the Haskell, and as soon as Any Given Saturday blew them all away, he was lighting up like New Years night with the Winstar group in the winner's circle.

Classic.

He can miss a month and Steve can play repeats and we will have missed nothing. Still waiting for the details on all his plans to fix racing.

That plan is being worked on with virtually all of the game's key players. The specifics are not for public consumption yet. They meet regularly and have made a lot of progress from what I understand. One issue however, is that the Breeders' Cup situation may be interfearing with finalization of the steering group's executions. There appear to be some pronounced animosities growing out of BCL's 'permanent host' concept that have the potential to again scuttle what looked like a real attempt at an industry-wide directional organization. Sanan will talk about it when he's at liberty to talk about it.

The Breeders’ Cup website essentially states that the mission of the organization is “promoting racing, but uniting the industry itself.” A decision by the Breeders’ Cup board to select Santa Anita as the permanent site of the organization’s championships would be one of the most divisive decisions made by leaders of an industry that too often is fractured.

Your post suggests that the irreparable splits likely to be caused by such a decision, aside from harming the viability of the Breeders’ Cup as we currently know it, would have the (likely albeit unintended) consequence of harming inter-jurisdictional cooperation on a whole host of important issues facing the industry. If nothing else, the need to promote the "greater good" should give the Breeders' Cup officials considering the self-serving permanent placement of the Breeders' Cup at Santa Anita reason to reconsider that ill-advised concept.

i'm thinking of going to the BC this year.. It might be the last time its ever 1) on dirt & 2) relevant. I honestly can not think of a worse mistake the BC could make than having a permanent host (especially never having a dirt race again). Cancelling the BC would make more sense.

Do you really think the powers that be are arrogant enough to allow that to happen with the outrage that is currently out there? I think they'll come to their senses.

yes, the Breeders Cup committee has proven time and time again that they are more inept than even the current congress of the United States. They think "they know best".

I don't think you could be more right or have put it better. Not sure if BCL is totally re-thinking the move after the April 22 meeting, but delaying the announcement which was widely expected a week ago Thursday, seems to indicate there may be some authentic second thoughts at the least.

The problem is that, if these are the same people working on the plan to "fix the sport," I can only imagine what that plan is going to look like.

And as an aside... Topics in Satish's segments, and the RMTC conversations as well, cover some of the same ground on purpose with the intent of driving home a message or ensuring that as many players, fans and industry stakeholders understand what's being done at various levels by the game's managers.

I enjoy when he talks about his horses, racing, betting etc.. Maybe he should not rehash the same ole about fixing the game until he is at liberty to do so. We get it already, less racing but of higher quality, integrity at sales, integrity of betting, drawing new owners, upside down revenue model, blah blah blah.
