![]() Very few, Thunder Gulch,Monarchos and Unbridled come to mind.
The losers seem to stand out more...Lost Mountain,Badgerland,a horse with flower in its name(not flower alley) send flowers or somthing like that, 3 or 4 years back there was a horse with "super" in the name that raced mostly at Calder,Screen King, the list seems endless. |

Funny how I remembered some of the bad picks (or at least part of their name) and forgot that I had Sea Hero until I saw others who had him. |

![]() The two horses I was absolutely sure couldn't lose were Point Given in 2001 and I Want Revenge last year. So.....one off the board the finish and one scratch.
My biggest longshot pick to come in was Funny Cide in '03. My worst pick had to be Friends Lake the following year. I remember being very hopeful with both my WP bet on him that year, and also my exacta box with him and Borrego. I guess I was off by a bit with that one. |

I missed this post when I replied to ranger. Wasn't that Big Brown's derby ? Technically I get credit for BB and one or two others if I count dutch bets and exacta part wheels. I wonder if there are any ethical issues redboarding 20 year old wagers ![]() |

![]() 2005 - Afleet Alex (3rd)*
2006 - Barbaro (1st) 2007 - Street Sense (1st) 2008 - Big Brown (1st) 2009 - Chocolate Candy (5th) Not too shabby for my first five years. *Speaking of Afleet Alex, anybody here have a compelling reason to make me feel good about Dublin winning the Derby? I'm on the fence right now, but have a hunch that he might win (even though his credentials say no). |
