![]() This is an interesting comment for those who watch the horses down the road..
Consignor Greg Dodd of Southern Chase Farm, on how he thought bigger, muscular horses had a distinct advantage during Saturday's under-tack show: That first day of the breeze show, that track was real heavy. I mean, there was a lot of kickback. And, in my opinion, in took a big, strong horse to do real well over it. |

![]() Today was a glorious day for horses whos dams raced in claiming races at Fairmount Park.
The dam of the sales topper - she was a win machine in Fairmount Claiming races. The dam of the Badge of Silver filly that sold for 375K ... she was a terrible horse at Fairmount for bottom level condition claimers. Nice to see that Fairmount is trying to make a run at Charles Town. |

![]() Went to the inaugural Keeneland 2yo sale in 1994 and marked down a couple that looked like future winners. A buddy and I agreed the Wild Again colt purchased by Dogwood for $105K looked like a good one.
We had to bet him through the Sam Houston pools at our local racetrack because our track didn't take the New York signal at that time. Wild Escapade won the Hopeful at a long price after being hustled into a short field at the draw. Back then, we didn't run into many that were doing this kind of homework, which is a long way of saying after reading some of these posts, it's a wonder I ever cashed a ticket at any kind of price. You boys don't miss much. |
