By the way ... if anyone wants to watch a really great stretch battle ... Amabo (who I believe ran a 94 Beyer in his prior start) hooked up with Stoneyer next time out.
Amabo was made the 3/5 favorite - Stoneyer was the 6/5 second choice.
Stoneyer's career record is 21-18-3-0 ... he was 2nd in his first two starts racing at the distance of 2 furlongs. At distances beyond 2fs - he's 19-18-1-0 lifetime - and he's a perfect 6-for-6 in PR Graded Stakes races.
Keep in mind - that Stoneyer's a Florida bred son of Graeme Hall (bought for 27K as a yearling and imported) - so he's not elidgible for any of those silly restricted races. Neither is Amabo .. Satish Sanan bred him in Fla.
This race basically looks like a showdown between the two true best horses to race in Puerto Rico last year... a couple of horses capable of mid 90 Beyers ... which would make them competitve in classy alw races and even Gr 3 stakes if they came over here.
