it wasn't my take! lol i thought he did well to cut off the shots he did.

why isn't marc andre fleury getting the start?

as for the best player out there...i've been watching hockey since the caps started 35 years ago. i've never seen a player like ovechkin. he is a thrill to watch. you never know what he's going to do. hell, they broke his nose a few years back. what did he do? just score four goals that night.

You gotta start Marty. That's a mistake

caps used to have a good goalie. Pete peters in 80s. Best offensive player u had prior to ovechkin probably cicarelli. My fav cap of all time. Dale hunter.

I actually think that Bondra and Gartner were much better than Dino. But I let Dani pass the final judgement based on the fact that she's the Caps fan.

Hunter is on my list of top 5 scumbags that have ever played the game.

maybe just for tonite? i can see giving him a breather vs germany. if it's a true benching, they're making a mistake similar to russia pulling their goalie after 1 pd vs the miraculous u.s. kids.

My German co-worker assures me that Canada could be Germany with me in the net.

The bigger issue is, who is in goal for their next game?

yeah, i remember pete peters. but my favorite caps goalie ever is olaf kolzig. dino was a fan fave as well, never cared much for hunter. best caps player tho for years-rod langway. mike gartner was awesome as well-they retired his number, something i don't see happening with dino. i think everyone's favorite tho was peter bondra. i've seen him in the stands at a few games this year.
but ovechkin is simply amazing. if i had to use one word to describe him, it would be 'fearless'. that hit on jagr (former cap for a bit, would love to see him come back to the nhl-and bring federov with him!) the other day was incredible. guys have said jagr is and has been the hardest guy to get off a puck-alex made it look easy.
his goal (and the play he made to get the scoring opporunity) against montreal last year was amazing-but 'the goal' he got vs phoenix-you have to see it to believe it.
