I think they should be allowed to cook, clean, and design clothing for the military.
Oh stop it. |

i'm not surprised to see that mccain is stepping back from the previous position. he's old for one, and like the article said, you can see a divide that exists pretty much along generational lines.
then there's the fact he's got an opponent in the upcoming elections, and perhaps is catering to a conservative bloc of voters-like any/every politician, he's looking to himself and what he needs to say to keep his seat first and foremost. fact is, he's probably not lying now-it's just coming out now that he was lying then. he probably never expected to see anyone come out in favor of repealing what was essentially a bad law, so he said the pc thing at the time. |

Plus he says he isnt changing position, lol McCain spokeswoman Brooke Buchanan said her boss has not shifted his position. She noted that Mullen said repeatedly that he was speaking for himself and not for the military, and she dismissed Gates's testimony because he was expressing the Obama administration's line. "There has to be a determination from our military leaders that they think it is a good idea to change the policy; then, of course, Senator McCain will listen to them." http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...020202588.html |

mullens said he was speaking for himself, but that's the way he feels, and he is a leader of our military. i think mccain is trying to be a bit disingenuous here. typical pol. besides, he did say military leaders and gates most definitely is one-regardless of whose line they think he's spouting. but i do think the senate is correct in placing a moratorium on discharges while they discuss repealing the law. |

can't argue with any of that. i read the rolling stone article when he was running for prez-i'd forgotten about his banking scandal. had he stuck to his guns, and had lieberman on his ticket, i may have voted for him. but no way in the world would i vote for that diva he chose to placate the right. |
