I was at the 1977 Arkansas Derby (Clever Tell) and still can remember the overflow crowd of 60,000 packing the place. I'm sure it has changed plenty since then but the quality and type of atmosphere has remained fantastic. Terry Wallace is fun to listen to and this used to be the place that was a precursor to the Ak-Sar-Ben meet in Omaha.

My favorite Terry Wallace calls are the races with Chindi, who was a rock star to the locals. What a wonderful track to visit.
