The atmosphere at the Ryder Cup is far and away greater than at any other tournament played in the sport. Just listen to the roars of the tee, or when a putt is sunk. I wonder whether the European players, indeed EU as a continent, are more into this competition than the US. For the Europeans the Ryder Cup is a bigger event than any of the majors, but I can't help but think that the American players hold the opposite view.
