i think it will be a great game , two exceptional defenses , the best college player of all time on 1 side , a great back and great wr on the other side, special teams maybe a slight edge to the gators , but , at the end of the day the coach i would rather have is on the side of the gators , i think both are great motivators but meyer makes the difference in the x's and o's over saban

LMAO. Yeah the x's and o's. It's a real challenge to figure out plays for Tebow.

Saban almost took Florida down last year with Sarah Jessica Parker Wilson. As the fools on NFL Primetime would say...Come oooon, muhr.

saban is the best recuriter /motivator in the country , surely you saw how he did in the nfl , florida has the coaching edge no question about it in this game

No question about it? That's rich.

And if you actually followed SEC football without those Yankees-colored glasses you would realize Florida has the edge in talent in this game and had a tremendous edge last year. Outside of the 4th quarter collapse by Bama, Florida was outplayed.

We'll see how it unfolds on Saturday. I think Florida should win. That will not, however, change my opinion on who has the better coach...especially when Meyer p.ussies out and goes to Notre Dame.

Here's a pro-tip...

on saturday a new drinking game:

take a sip every time a sports announcer says, "Tim Tebow."

make it a shot when they say, "...is a great guy."

The best thing for me is the loser could end up against Cincy in the Sugar....then these people around here will get a taste of humility with dash of whoop ass.

ole miss found a way with a much less talented team to not only win , but , they won in gainsville .... florida had the best players but to say they had a tremendous edge is ludicrous , having tebow is a big edge in this game , but meyer is the better game day coach

coach you are already building in the excuses by talking about talent levels

fla. still has more talent (for now). i figured this Bama team 8 or 9 wins. a very outside shot at 10 wins. is this years Bama team better than last year at this point? i'd say yes. fla's big question, can they "just throw the switch"? Bama plays the same game every week.
last years SECCG Bama out played fla for 3qtrs and did not finish. there is a point were it's not coaching, it's about making plays. the 4th qtr last year fla made more plays.

Alabama doesn't have a hope, or a prayer, or a shot in the dark of upsetting the Hurricanes for the national championship in tonight's Sugar Bowl. And it won't even be close. Alabama will be trounced, clobbered, mauled, devastated, humiliated and left for dead. The Crimson Tide will not roll, not even a little bit. Tonight you will experience low Tide. Probably even ebb Tide. You wouldn't even have to hike up your pant legs to wade in what be left of this Tide after the Hurricanes pass through.

I had the pleasure of attending that game.

The U "fans" scattered like cockaroaches afterward. Good times.

if that was your assesment at the beiginning of the year and they won a few games (which almost every champ does) that the easily could have lost (tenn , aurburn ) then why is sat's game the end all be all

alabama will be a favorite over texas or tcu , if they are in the bcs championship game i agreee that they will be fired up and not down like last year but what makes everyone here so sure that the bama/florida winner is a stone colde lock over texas or tcu?? i don't see it , i could see bama losing if they beat florida.....better teams have lost the title game including those miami teams i mentioned

Where do you come up with this stuff? x's and o's work on both sides of the ball. For all of Urban Meyer's genius with the spread, Saban is that much and then some with his defensive schemes.

Urban Meyer walked into a team that was ready to win. Ron Zook and company had bought quite a nice stock of athletes in the years between meyer and the head ball coach. They never missed a beat.

Alabama on the other hand wasnt getting nearly the same haul before Saban arrived. It takes a few years to really turn it around and we will see in the next couple of years a Bama squad that will perenially contend.

You want to talk about coaching and the last time they met, Saban took a bama team that was a ten point dog into the second half with a lead before they were eventually worn down by a deeper more talented squad. Coaching only goes so far.

then explain the utah game to me, totally unprepared and totally outschemed , and his defense his bread and butter could not stop the spread offense ---you guys can talk all you want about how the kids didn't want to play the game , didn't want to be there , the OL who screwed up before the game with the agent and couldn't play ..... the defense was swiss cheese , saban didn't have the team ready to play and had no answer for the spread offense , where was the defensive genius that night ???? this all from a team from the lowly mountain west confernece which would have maybe won a about 3 games in the sec....you can't convince me the weren't trying in that game

They were flat. Those kids played out of their minds and way over their heads all season long. They weren't supposed to be undefeated most of the year. They were one game away from the BCS and they lose. Not only do they lose the chance to play for the title, they lose the conference title and that undefeated record and their mojo. How were they supposed to get up for the sugar bowl and play Utah after that?

It wasnt about the spread. They played Florida a month earlier and defended the King of the spread just fine. They were just flat. That happens every year. Didnt the great Urban Meyer and Tim Tebow get the crap kicked out of them by Michigan in a meaningless bowl game a few years back?

florida hung 30 on them last year , they didn't exactly shut tebow down last year and they couldn't stop utah either

Game over, Bama should thank their punter for that open field tackle that kept the momentum in their favor. Tebow now 2-6 when trailing in 2nd half. Congrats to all Tide fans!!
