Nero killed 6 million Christians and burned Rome to the ground while blaming them for the fire. That's a pretty good head start.

and your numbers are way off. hitler killed six million. i doubt the entire roman population numbered six million when nero reigned. and from what i've read, they don't know how many christians died when nero ruled. but the christian sect was still very small at that time.

Christians are just Jews gone rogue, and Muslims view Jesus as a prophet.

There's alot to be said for Buddism, perhaps ....

That's closer to the truth than most people think.

It's more like though that Christians are just Romans gone rogue and that some very clever Italians a long time ago realized their empire could not continue on forever in it's current (at that time) form, and that something had to be done to continue the empire for as long as possible.

That was one mighty strong 'omen' Constantine received from God!!!!! That one omen changed things forever.

This is how twisted you are. Ur a Republican who supports Obama, who thinks Carter 'got it' and now ur calling for Buddism? LOL ur Pres (OB) chose to 'heisman' the Dalai Lama until he saw the Red Chineese and everyone else. Maybe he'll bring him in for a beer in the Rose Garden in a couple months?

Wow, I can't even come up with an appropriate insult for you. That post of yours is just so ridiculous.

However.

I'd certainly like to know how you came up with six million!

Did you know, by the way, that there is absolutely no actual proof that Romans persecuted early Christians? All the 'early' writings of such nonsense has been proven to be forgeries done at a much, much later date.

Did you also know that the Romans were remarkably tolerant of their peoples religious beliefs?

Oh yeah, duh, of course you didn't.

Does the second world war not count as recent enough?

Despite the imbecilic claims by Christians in this country, Hitler was not an atheist, and was, in fact, a passionate Catholic. This isn't even debatable.

Thirty million or so Russians died because of him, let alone all the Jews and Gypsies, and other assorted undesirables.

I could go into more current atrocities performed by these groups, but it's a lot more complicated now that they have refined their techniques. I'll gladly point in the right direction, however, if you wish.

Oh, why not hijack this thread, but my apologies if anyone cares .... <g>

You mention Hitler. It infuriates me the way people casually compare anything to Hitler (not you) I've met tattooed holocaust survivors when I was younger, and it's just not right to insult and demean that horror that way. But the demonstrators that compared Bush to Hitler, now Obama to Hitler, etc. - what a bunch of losers.

Segue - Glenn Beck compares Obama to Hitler all the time, accused Obama's interest in restoring volunteerism (Peace Corp, anyone?) to "indoctrination youth camps", a threat to our security, etc.

But I see that Glenn Beck is going to start holding "education camps" for his followers. And that is exactly what he is calling them.

Can he really, really not see the hypocrite in the mirror?

More times than I can count, people and/or groups in a position of power use the same techniques of those that they lambaste to achieve their ends. It's as if they are projecting their crap onto other people.

I understand too what you say about Hitler and that makes sense, however, some day when you have a lot of time and want to learn something really interesting, research the history of IG Farben and what influences they've had upon our modern world, especially after they were disbanded/dismantled.

Yeah, when Beck sat there and called Obama a racist with a deep-seated hatred of white people, I thought, "poor Glenn, you feel nobody loves you?"

Now the scary buzzword this week is "rape". Beck, Limbaugh, conservative radio. Best when used in association with the black guy. I swear, these guys have professional fear-mongers consulting for them.

So in the past few months we've gone through threats of Hitler, Socialism, Communism, Stalin, Mao ... now rape. What threat is next? Smallpox? Plague?

This is hilarious from SNL last night: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/1..._n_366748.html

He doesn't care. He has a math project. If Hitler ever stepped foot in a church, then this guy is gunna say Adolf killed all those people to make Christ happy. I mean, really, if you were ever forced to go to Sunday School, then he's got your deeds put into the "Killing for Jesus" column. If you killed 5-10 deer, it must of been for Jesus. Meanwhile, the Muslims yell "Allahu Akbar!" to make sure you know exactly why they killed people (their gutter religion.)

Maybe.

Then again, maybe it has more to do with Hitler saying things like "I am doing Gods work" (in reference to killing Jews), among many other things besides stepping into a church.

What I find so ironic about you Steve is that you rip Islam while you so feverishly protect and promote a religion that says someone with your tastes is going to burn in hell.

Nice try though at belittling my position by dismissing the historical record and then saying Hitler is only a Christian because he stepped into a church once.

Oh, and Danzig, I knew you were on my side. I wasn't trying to attack you at all. Sorry.

There is this common belief these days that the Church, despite it's incredibly violent history, has suddenly turned over a new leaf and is no longer violent. It's ridiculous.
