this is from an article on drf: University of Kentucky Hospital would not release any details on Brimo's injury, other than her being in critical condition, but trainer Mark Casse, for whom Brimo worked previously, said his ex-wife, Jennifer Christiansen, was at the hospital with Brimo and informed him that she had suffered head and back injuries. Casse said he was reluctant to speak too much regarding her condition, knowing that her condition could be changing. He said he was told she has movement in her legs, but was placed in an induced coma because of recurring seizures. |

![]() This is terrible news. I wish her and her family all the best. I know that another rider, Amanda Casey, has a bruised liver after being kicked by her horse in the paddock Friday. http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-raci...-bruised-liver I can only imagine what it's like for an apprentice who's already out there digging for some kind of foothold to end up, best case scenario, out a month or two in the hole both in terms of earning a living and networking with trainers. It's hard enough for veterans. Hopefully that's all she's got and there are no complications but there's internal bleeding so who knows.
Is Julia Brillo's horse okay? I assumed so because there was no mention of euthanasia by anybody. |
