The guy makes the field goal and it is a loss!!! It has everything to do with the crappy Baltimore kicker.

If Brett doesnt get them down the field the posession before, we aren't talking about any missed field goals. He can't play defense.

When baltimore took the lead, I thought the game was over. Favre got them back down the field for the winning score. Give credit where it is due.

He may very well play like crap for the rest of the year but the last two games he has played very well and so far this season he has played like an upper echelon QB. Is that not an accurate assessment?

Favre has played very well but not quite in the range of upper echelon QB. He's not the QB he used to be but for once in his life he seems to have realized that and he's not making the stupid throws that are so characteristic of Favre. With Peterson and a good offensive line, solid QB play with minimal mistakes is all the Vikings need. I haven't seen anything to think that he's doing anything that say, a healthy Chad Pennington couldn't do. Let's see how the next two games go, he has to go on the road to play two solid teams. So far the Vikes have only beat up on crappy teams (crappy might be an understatement) on the road. If he shows up the next two weeks, wins them both, and plays well then he absolutely deserves props. Until then he isn't doing anything more than 15 other NFL QBs could do in the same situation. But more than likely, they lose them both and are tied with the Pack atop the NFC North.

So, if he goes into Pittsburgh and Green Bay and wins AFTER leading his team to a 6-0 record with no bye week and playing one of the most physical teams in the league, then he can be considered upper echelon?

Chad Pennington can do what he has done this year?

This is why you are an easy mark. You have a bad opinion and you stick with it even though there is nothing but overwhelming evidence to say that you are wrong.

FAVRE SEASON STATS:

178 124 1,347 69.7 7.6 12 6.7 2 1.1 63 14 90 109.5

12 tds 2 ints 69.7 completion percentage. 6 and 0.

Top five numbers...UPPER ECHELON.

Favre is playing great, especially given everything, however it is a long season and he is playing behind an outstanding offensive line and he has the best running back in the league in his backfield. This makes most opposing defenses key on AP and they make Favre beat them, which is what he is doing so far. If a defensive gets pressure on him things will change. Favre would be back in MS in the hospital if he played behind the packers o-line. He is doing well so far, but if you go by numbers he is still not in the top 5 this year. Brady, Brees, Petyon Manning, Matt Schaub, and even Rodgers have better stats. Don't get me wrong he is playing outstanding for an old man, but he is not a top 5 QB in today's NFL.

Doesnt that happen for any QB? You put pressure on Peyton Manning and he folds up like an accordian. You put pressure on Schaub and he throws the ball all over the field. Ask the Jags.

The Ravens put pressure on the QB. So do the niners. He did pretty darn well against them. According to Sniper, Green Bay was going to be Pittsburgh midwest with the addition of Dom Capers.

How can he not be top 5 in the NFL in stats? He is top five in TD's thrown. He is top five in QB rating. He is top 5 in completion percentage. He has thrown but two interceptions. Wiphan...HOW ARE HIS STATS NOT TOP FIVE?????????????????????????????????????????

Since I can count on you to have some cheese with my whine, how the f do the Viqueens keep winning these games? Pitt better bring them back to reality so the game at Lambeau really means something.

Of course, we do have to still beat the Browns first

Is he top 5 now? 21 tds 3 picks and his team is 9-1. Is he a top 5 QB?

He's won three road games against UFL caliber teams and three home games over two 3-3 teams and a 3-2 team. He also has the best player in football at RB that forces teams to put 8 in the box. Forgive me for not being overly excited. Like I said, 15 QBs in the NFL could be in the same position. I can't believe you are using QB rating still when there are so many other more accurate gauges of value out there. Footballoutsiders is the best among them. They have Favre at 7th this year just behind Schaub and Orton. If you want to contend those guys are in the upper echelon that is fine, you just have a much bigger upper echelon than I do.

I dont read the esteemed "football outsiders" so I guess I'm privy to that bastion of knowledge. I will go by the actual stats and my own experience in watching the game.

If you really think that 15 qbs could do what favre is doing, then you will find no shortage of wagering partners because that is a bad opinion.

I guess when Pittsburgh does what it does to every other QB in the league at home, favre will suck...until they win the division and go to the playoffs.

7th out of 30 is pretty good for an old guy
