the whole "terrorist threat" level was just another panic induced bad idea by the bush admin. this one at least was just stupid and ineffective. it doesn't carry the stench of tragedy their other decisions did. bush's domestic security advisor frances townsend has confirmed ridge was asked to raise the level in the weeks leading up to the election, though she denies politics played any role. so ridge may want to sell his book. but he's also clearly telling the truth. |
