I'm intrigued by Presious Passion in this race; should he go. We're accustomed to horses wiring on the AP turf by setting slow fractions (or collapsing after having set slow fractions -- whatever the case my be). If this horse is able to set fast fractions on that course and hold off this field, a more impressive effort would be hard to imagine. This could turn out to be a very special race.

This will be my first trip to Arlington and of all the horses who will be there this is the one I'm most excited about for the very reason above. Hoping for some firm ground a little catch me if you can by Presious Passion.

Probably good at best. Supposed to get thunderstorms Fri night/Sat morning. Only way it'll be firm is if all the rain misses us. I hope the rain's gone by the time they open the gates Sat... I don't want to be stuck out in the rain.

The weather predictions has changed every single day for the last four. In Hersch's article he quoted mid 90's, on weather.com, it says high of 85. It is Chicago in the summer, who knows what will happen

Darn. That's not very cooperative weather.

I agree with you and I can see a similar outcome to the Rossi Gold where Rumor Has It did his best Presious Passion impersonation on Saturday. I don't handicap races before the actual PP's come out (As some do ex. PG), but it looks like he could have it his own way on the front end.

Scav, Da Skill says mid 80's and dry, so I'll go with the top weather handicapper in the country. It's like he makes the weather Morning Lines and others follow. Looking forward to a great day of racing.

Da Skill is unbelievable. I have been messing with Jerry Taft lately, only because of Giangreco sports reports are great but for important days, I rely on Skilling.

I was skeptical of him when I moved up here in '05, but I'm convinced he is much the best.

Arlington has an error on their website - Mr. Sidney wasn't even close to being first in the Met - he was 11th.

Why is that? This horse burns on the front end and runs them off their feet early by opening long leads or is able to ACCELERATE once headed late. If I remember correctly, The Tin Man got good setups, set slow paces, and won the cheap way.

You really need to watch of few of PP's races; especially the last one at MTH. Might wake you up.

I couldn't agree more with your assessment of PP. I just was commenting that The Tin Man almost won two Millions in a row on the front end.

If the turf is on the firm side you know who that favors 4th place finish recently, apparently he wants firmer ground so hopefully he will get it at Arlington.
