She came into last year having won only listed races in dubai and a couple of grad3 3 races in chile and the saratoga race was her first race of any kind in North America. Since then she beat ginger punch on the dirt, finished second to zenyatta on synthetic and won a grade 1 on turf.

It just seemed like an odd placing for such an accomplished horse...to me anyway. Imagine if Zenyatta had opened the year in a listed stake.

She was a bit more accomplished then you make it sound. While only listed, she destroyed them in the UAE Oaks and was 3rd in the UAE Derby (albeit, 8 lengths back).

Hasn't Godolphin gone the non-graded or even non-stake route with other horses coming off a lay-off?
