Mike, are you kidding?
On July 18th, 3 1/2 months into the season, the White Sox owned baseball's 2nd best record overall and were only 3.5 games behind the team with baseball's best record overall the Tigers. There record was 58-34!

They still own a 11-5 advantage over the Tigers this year in head to head.

I dont know how you can say the White Sox havent played great baseball this year, at least for a great part of the season.
