and this makes them an 11 pt favorite over providence on a neutral court explain that one to me?

Yeah, when West Virginia and Louisville meet in the Elite 8 it will be a 1 or 2 point spread. They are very close. Louisville beat them by 3 and 6 this year, they beat Providence both times by 18. West Virginia beat Providence by 27 when they played.

that's not what you are saying soctt , you threw a number out there (11)

i pointed out the 'vill was 9 or 10 over provd on a neutral court

so based on your numbers west va is better than 'ville and if you set the line you would have wvu over louisville - explain this one to me

Louisville was a 9 or 10 point favorite. Since then Providence lost by 18 to them and lost by 12 at home to Miami. If Louisville and Providence met again on a neutral court now the line would be a lot more than 9 or 10, probably 13ish.

ok here is 1 for you

louisville was favored by 7.5 over syracuse in the finals
west va as favored by 6.5 over syracuse in the semi's

now everyone knows that the overnite line betwwen west va and syr was 1 or 2 pts west va favored

there was a 6 ot game that had to get factored into the line for syr/wvu , the oddsmakers decide to move the line 4/5.5 points

again explain to me how west va could be a 1 or 2 pt underdog to 'ville

are we to believe that if wvu had beaten syr they would have been in a pickem game (1 pt either) way against the cards?

We played all three this year:

Best team is WVA then followed closely by Miami and then PC...check out the Pomeroy rankings I use when I compare teams:

then click on a team name to get comparable stats and season results!

Enjoy

Louisville would be a 2 to 3 point favorite over West Virginia right now and would be a 14 point favorite if they played Providence now.

Just for the record, I went and checked the Sagarin predictor against the sportsbook.com lines for every tournament game and the only one off by more than 2 points was Illinois/Western Kentucky and that is solely due to Illinois being without their point guard.
