Yes, Del Mar's Polytrack surface was playing faster in the mornings, when the weather was cooler, than it was during the hotter Summer afternoons. So they started adding water to it to cool it off, which hardened the wax and tightened up the surface.

Pro-Ride uses a polymer that supposedly does not change with temperature. How has the Santa Anita track been these past couple of days? Any noticeable wet spots from the rain? Were they tilling more than usual to dry it out, or anything like that?

Needless to say, I have fallen behind in the drainage problems saga.
