Of course he isn't alone! A lot of people have heard about how the military discovered a bunch of WMDs in the lair of the Easter Bunny. It seems that terroist bastard was stockpiling the things and was planning a major assault on the Tooth Fairy.
Luckily that plan was thwarted.

ae's going to pop on here eventually to talk about the "stockpile of chemical weapons" that were "discovered".

what he's talking about are degraded 1980's era chemical weapons (same one's dropped on the kurd's) which after their short shelf life had expired, and were no longer usuable got buried in a dump by saddams military.

so the world is now safe from unusable chemical weapons thanks to our intervention.

this story had a shelf life of about 5 minutes on conservative talk radio before it dissapeared in a chorus of laughter and dropped jaws. Even the bush admin had enough sense avoid suggesting this was justification for the invasion.

I'm no expert, but does that really qualify as a WMD? Isn't that just some kind of enriched uranium that could be used for a whole host of things? Granted one of those things could be a nuclear weapon, but has there ever been any evidence that they possessed the technolgy to weaponize the stuff?

I would also like to take this oppurtnity to remind people that all the things that are being said about the Iraqis not being able to handle democracy etc

was one of the excuses for slavery

as far as WMDs

I believe the terrorists already have nukes and are just waiting for something.
What I don't know...

btw

I seldom listen to talk radio

Democracy will not work there because the minority has no chance of ever being the majority. One group of people will always run the country. Once again it comes down to two groups of crazy religious people.

There were no WMD's there. The CIA told them that too, but they twisted enough arms until they found someone who said they were there.

Most of us believe the war was being fought because they wanted to transform the middle east. Not because of oil, not because of WMD, but because these guys thought they could put a democracy in an arab country an everything would change. They were wrong, but some good things came out of the war, but the costs were too high for what we got out of it.
