The travel involved is insane. Because so many of these tracks are so far apart you would need to move your whole operation 4 or 5 times a year. What about stalls? Seriously though... while the number of racing dates could certainly be downsized, eliminating the Belmont fall meet is laughable. Aqueduct 3 months a year with a 3 month break in Dec-Feb makes a lot of sense... let the good NYRA horses go to GP, the mediocre ones to Philly, and the really bad ones some time off.
