You can't compare golf to pool or archery. You could compare putting to pool or archery. You don't need to be athletic to putt. But it takes a lot of athleticm to hit a golf ball far. You have to generate serious club-head speed to hit a golf ball 280 yards.
Have seen way too many fat guys in their fifties drive the ball a long way to believe it takes "a lot of athleticism". Sure it takes a lot of skill and practice…..but athleticism…..please.
