The last world record holder in the 400 I.M. was Tom Dolan. The record was set at the 2000 games in Sydney. The time? 4:11.76.

Almost an eight second drop in the span of 8 years. Arguably the greatest athlete of all time.

I don't have to argue it. The results are there. He'll be the most accomplished Olympic athlete ever after this one and he's only 23.
