Well, who pays for them to go up to Michigan and do this? Do they have a separate prize fund for them? Cuz they ain't gunna make the cut. Not one of the 20 is gunna make any money are they? We pay are own way to qualify. It cost me $285 to play in my section CPC in a couple weeks. If by some chance I play well enough to qualify for the National CPC in New Mexico next year, you can better believe I will have to fork over a few hundred dollars more for that entry fee, on top of paying for my own flight there, hotel room and other expenses. If I finish top 20 there and qualify for the PGA at Hazeltine next year, every dime of expenses will come out of one pocket and one pocket only...MINE. So yeah, I think any Club Pro that qualifies has earned his right to try and make some $$ and compete against the big boys for 1 week.

Oh, by the way....the entry fee for every PGA Tour Pro to play this week...$100.

They don't compete(none of them made the cut.) You can't see this? There is only one way to compete against the big boys, and that's to play all the time (like they do.) It's really illogical to think you can compete with people that are constantly working on one thing(their game.) Somewhere along the line common sense has all the sudden no importance. I think they should have a separate pool of money to give these club pro types that play in this tournament. Otherwise , you have what we saw this week(guys missing the cut, and being out a lot of dough to play in some tournament against people that are far more ready to take on the course.) There is a separate pool for the eldest senior players on the Champions tour. Guys over a certain age compete with each other for that. It's what? Over 60, or something like that. You keep saying it's your championship etc. Well it would make sense if they had a way to reward them for simply doing well against their peers. In other words, this guy Espisito should probably have gotten 50 for top CLUB PRO (OR WHATEVER YOU WANT TO CALL THEM.) If making the cut to get a check is the only way for them to get paid, then it's pretty much pie in the sky stuff.

I can't believe Michael Campbell made the cut. His game has been awful this year. I don't know who is gunna win. For some reason, my interest isn't that high so far. Holmes and Curtis play well on the weekend when they've done well going into the weekend. I don't consider either a choke. Holmes gives away shots on the greens(like he did Friday when he couldn't 2 putt. ) Wi=a choke. Rose= a choke.

I understand they have a hard time competing against those guys. But I feel safe in saying that most CLub Pros feel the same way as I do. I would love to have the chance to spend that kinda money just to play in the PGA Championship. It's a privelage for guys like us to be able to make it out there, even if only for one week. Yes, a great majority of them do miss the cut, but there are times when some do make that cut. I had a couple friends play in it a few times. One of them finished T-33 at Whistling Straits a couple years ago when Vijay won and another made the cut down at the Atlanta Athletic Club the year David Toms one. I know it may not make sense to most people, but for PGA Pros it's an honor to qualify for the event.

My guess is at Whistling Straits it was one of these 2:

So, that's about 37k American Money. There are 20 of these guys a year in the PGA Tour. If say it costs a minimum of 2k to go play it(expenses, lost income etc.) then, from Atlanta on, it's been about 200k out, and 37k in. This is supposed to be a good thing for you guys, and as an impartial viewer looking in, i'd say (if they really want to make it respectful for you guys) it would make a lot more sense to have 100k a year given out to the club pros who do best each year. It would be great P.R. The game can certainly afford it, and it would make much more sense to me, because, at the moment, it's a little degrading to see 20 club pro types spending hard earned money to struggle to get it back. I think the golfing world could have afforded to pay this Esposito guy 50k, given him the public recognition he deserves for what was probably a heroic type effort(under the circumstances.) That's just my opinion. It's a no brainer to me. I know (to you) it's an honor to go be out the money, but the rest of the world sees it as a guy one stroke short, and $2k or $3 k poorer for his efforts.

Chip Sullivan was the one at Whistling Straights. Made $34k that week. 72-71-73-71 Thats pretty good playing, especially considering his sister was on her death bed and if I remember correctly she died that Sunday.

My UE player fell a little on our former home golf course, but he's tied for the lead with University of Southern Indiana player, and a 9-time champ. Should run out there to watch the final 9, but I'll just go work on my game.

I know the creativity is astonishing. This is what happens when you have compounding trauma of Broxton getting 1 out(outta 5 batters,) and seeing a Tiger-less major. Anybody see Broxton's throw to Martin on the play at the plate? It's a beauty. Once he starts to choke, then there's no coming back. He does the "the fatboy choke" as if he's gettin' paid to do comedy. The best part was when he hit a guy with an inside pitch, and Martin made a gesture with his glove that can only be described as the "wtf ya doin' " gesture.
