I actually like the Youbet format a lot because you see so much information on the screen at any one time, i tried the TwinSpires one as well but i didn't care for it at all so i cancelled it very quickly.
All that being said, i bet online out of necessity and i do enjoy it but the experience of online wagering is not one tenth as satisfying to me as going to the track to watch them live. One downside of wagering online is that my average wager per race is a lot higher online than it would be at the track because you don't have the same feeling of pain as you do when you fork over the cash each time - thats good i guess if you win but like most people, i lose more often than i win so my budget takes a hit every now and then! lol
Easy there...I like Ky Downs, but you have to pony up and join the club instead of hanging with the $2 degenerates in the regular area. The Sly Fox - I think it's now the Winning Colors bar- has pretty good food, you can get a drink, and I always go with a good group. The other area there with all the southern KY hillbillies is pretty pathetic.

To the original topic...how many of you that prefer online wagering have a family at home? I think that would change the answer considerably. To me a trip to the OTB at Southland Greyhound park involves an afternoon of hanging out with friends, something that family men don't get enough of. I play online occasionally, but I get excited when I'm at the track or OTB in person.

I agree with the "southern KY hillbillies are pretty pathetic" portion of your statement. I have never seen so many people stand in line and handicap at the window. I really love the ones that get to the window, turn around and look at one of the TV screens, and spit out about 50 trifecta combinations to the teller. My friend told one of them to go play the lottery if he wanted to do that (in not-so-friendly terms ).

I am lucky in that my wife will let me have plenty of days to go to the track with my friends. She has also been cool enough to let us get together at my house and bet online all day and play poker at night. She is definately a keeper!
