One of my prized possessions is the Bloodhorse magazine with LITF on the cover that I had Aleo, Gilchrist and Baze sign earlier this year at Bay Meadows.

I can't wait to see this movie. I know it end sad but so did The First Saturday in May... why does our sport have such sad endings? Just wondering...

Rest in Peace Lost in the Fog and Mr. Aleo...
I hear ya, Derby Cat. I was happy he starred while based in my current "backyard," too.

It doesn't water down my pleasure and admiration for Lost in the Fog, but I feel indeed fortunate to have been in the right place at the right time to also personally see and witness race Spectacular Bid, Seattle Slew, Alysheba, Sunday Silence and Unbridled, just off the top of my head.

But I've gotta say, I did of all those feel most personally connected to Lost in the Fog.

Now all that said, for the occasional sad story I just remind myself that somewhere every day there's likely a horse winning a race with a story that feels good with regard to the horse or connections.

And if that doesn't work I just remember I always feel good to have handicapped a nice winner while holding a nice ticket.

:-)
