Is that supposed to be an exasperated, world weary condemnation of the quality of the filly crew? Because if it is, I don't get it. Zaftig, Proud Spell and fillies like Ariege, Pure Clan, Indian Blessing, Little Belle, Ginger Brew, even Golden Doc and Lethal Heat, et al, aren't legitimate enough for you? To me it's been a great season for big time soph fillies.

No. It's supposed to be an exasperated, world weary condemnation of the entire breed.

Ok, OK...the 3YO filles have yet to disappoint as an entire division. I'll give you that. But calling a matchup between Proud Spell and the latest graded stakes winner "big time" seems hyperbolic to me.

The Coaching Club American Oaks would have been terrible so at least now that one will have some star power. Plus if they both win it would setup a nice showdown in the Alabama.
