It was as good as it needed to be. Every race seemed to have a slow pace on sat but the foster was a waltz for that kind of race. He was clearly better than that bunch of bums that lined up against him. The scary prospect for next year is that this group of 3 year olds sucks and the best of them are almost assuredly retired at the end of the year. This years handicap horses (a guess that is an outdated term also) are as bad as any I can remember and next year may be worse. It is not out of the realm of possibility that a horse will be claimed and win a graded stake next out. Maybe a grade 1.
