Default Mr Prospector #1 sire

Funny, I was thinking about Vindication about 2 days ago. The horse that won teh Juvenile when they ran it at Arlington Park. The distance was longer because of track configuration. 9 furlongs. Everyone was talking about how you would get a better Derby picture of the contenders because of the extra 1/16th of a mile.

Not only did Vindication not make it to the Derby. None of the runners hit the board in the Ky Derby. Maybe the distance or maybe the track surface did them all in. I'm sure someone will say it was the MRLS.

Mr Prospector, like it or not was #1. I have always heard that you want Raise A Native on the sire side for Ky Derby winner. Having Mr Prospector or RAN on the Dam side was the kiss of death until BARBARO destroyed everything. For a one pace horse (the kind that aren't supposed to win the Ky Derby) he made the Ky Derby look like a joke.

I never liked Awesome Again but his babies do very well.
Everyone gets excited about AP Indy sired horses and they bet them 1st time out but I seldom see them win any sprints.

I like reading about the horses at the Farm.

one last thing .. Sometimes the first foal of a dam is a bit small.
Serena's Song first didn't win much. There are several mares that won the Distaff with so so babies.
