I have thought that the officiating has been awful for most of the playoffs, but that no goal call was the icing on the cake last night. The Stars got a reprieve last night.

That's the problem, too many euro's. Each team has like one guy that can fight and they are buried on the 4th line. I am a big Rangers fan and they have no toughness. Colton Orr is on the 4th line or doesn't play and a guy like Avery has to fight teams by himself. I miss guys like Toccett, Melanby, Messier, guys that have talent and not afraid to throw 'em if they have too. There are only a handful around now, Iginla and Lecavalier come to mind. But it is now the kinder faster NHL that makes it on national TV. So they don't want to see guys beatin the piss out of each other (sends the wrong message). I miss the old gritty, pushing and shoving after every whistle NHL, but those days are far gone.

I am in a bind too. I really don't like the wings, but watching the Pens beat the Rangers (my team) left a bad taste in my mouth. Between Crosby diving and Malkin kicking guys legs out, for which any other guy would have gotten a suspension let alone a penalty. They were the better team, but it seemed like they got every call. So I am rooting for the Wings.

I was just kidding about the Lakers, I kind of want the Celtics to win ( I have always like KG and Ray Allen) but the Anti-Boston reflex kind of kicks in with me being from NY. I just don't see to much NBA in my immediate future.
