Steve,
Excellent tout, read it inside and out and has to impact your view of the race. As hyper Derby information abounds, this is vital stuff. Spyder

I have a lot of respect for Moss and think he is by far the best handicapper ESPN has employed. I see it a few ticks worth of Derby pressure faster than Moss, but everyone has an opinion. I also see another 3 who could decide to contest the two he talks about for the lead.

Moss is great...but when it comes down to heading for the windows I find it hard to believe he will place his $2 win bet on Visionaire..... when he does I will be right next to him sending it in on Colonel John and asking him "Have you ever thought of trying Rogaine?"

Why is it that just about everyone assumes that Big Brown needs the lead?

And as the best horse in a race with speed, there is trouble almost everywhere else. Which is of course why this race is so difficult to win. This is not the Florida Derby. He really does not need the lead. But if he finds himself in a group... Target practice. All he needs is a good trip. And I cant think of another race in the US where the probability of getting a bad trip is so relevant. |

Then there won't be a problem, will there?
I'm looking at the chart for the Bluegrass, and I'm shocked that someone with pace experience can see something positive about Visionaire's performance. He gained but since when is last moving a tired bunch, and passing horses that are BACKING UP, a good effort? |

I'm getting more and more afraid that he just cruises all the way around. . . So hopefully he gets the 1 post and gets squeezed so we can actually make some $. . .

Now, I can see the argument that the race is best ignored because of the surface, but not trying to use the performance is an indicator of some hidden ability. |
