Penn National has just built a new casino and as such, is absolutely attracting a higher caliber of equine a la what PID did last year. Not every track is Saratoga. I know that was just a little trolling we saw earlier, but I figure I still need to stand up for Penn. At least they have a turf course there.

Trolling? Because I gave a negative opinion of a track who has 4 brothers that are making up for 98% of all wins? Doesnt that tell you enough right there? I'll quit betting NYRA tracks when the Dutrow brothers account for any more than 40% of all wins.

Geez, sorry for having an opinion that doesnt agree with yours. Maybe I should move to a communistic nation.

No, you're certainly allowed to have as misinformed an opinion as you'd like. Let me know when you find that three bedroom colonial you've been seeking in a communistic country.

He asked for information on trainers and you gave a dumb statement about toy tracks and how nobody should be betting them. If you don't think that is trolling then you are pretty dense. Now a drama queen act about moving to a communist nation? Perhaps you should save your opinions for topics you know about such as Ben Affleck's betting patterns.

4 brothers, um, sorry one of them seems female, so 3 brothers and 1 sister account for 98% of all wins at a track....what kind of information would you want to know? Their hair colors? Favorite kind of beer?
Sounds like a great track to bet. I wonder what a $100 win bet does to the pools there on a typical night?

First, the Beatties do not account for 98% the wins at Penn National. So if you want to start slinging out garbage, at least have your facts correct.

- Murray L. Rojas is the leading trainer at Penn this year, and was last year.
- Stephanie S. Beattie is winning at 33% this year.
- Todd M. Beattie is winning at 25% this year.
- Ryan Beattie is winning at 30% this year.
- The three Beattie trainers have almost the same combined number of starters as Scott Lake at Penn for 2008.

According to Equibase there have been 414 winners at Penn National this year. Of the 414 winners the Beatties have won 51 of those races. That means, Gander, that the Beatties combined have won 12% of all races at Penn National. So your 98% figure used in defence of this arguement was only off by a mere 86%.

Good post. As I've often said -- don't confuse the issues with facts! LOL.

You really shouldn't confuse these inferences, allegations, accusations, etc., with your facts. LOL.

Yeah, but he was correcting a guy who thinks Ben Affleck and Kid Rock will have a major say in the final Kentucky Derby odds.

I'd like to hear Einstein defend his math...did he add percentages?

Stephanie S. Beattie 75 25 33.3
Richard L. Beattie 2 0 0
Ryan Beattie 33 10 30.3
Todd M. Beattie 55 14 25.5

49/165= 29.6%

Oh and there has been 276 races ytd....so 49/276=17.7%

Richard is really dragging down the rest of the Beattie clan, so it seems.

I'd also say, for the record, Penn National is a great track to play on a random Friday or Saturday night after cards are over at Keeneland or Belmont or wherever. Relatively full fields, generally decent pools, and with the renovations they've made to the place in the last year, I really don't have a problem with the track at all.

You all are missing the point. I would like to know the win percentages when there is a Beattie horse entered in a race, how often does one of them win.

Either way, to me, it's like betting on how fast my turd will flush down the toliet. I would have more fun using a blow dryer in the tub.

Just out of curiosity, if you are simply talking about the win % on the entire Beattie family, and looking at the win % any time that any one of them has a horse in a race -- exactly what conclusions can be drawn from that?

Eric
