ok, half white half black guys. They are athletic enough to dribble and not get the ball stolen, but have touch and can shoot as well.

any problems with this?

Irish, your understating the pressure of the situation. One just doesn't come off the bench with 20 seconds life to ice a game. The last two minutes of a big game, the percentages dont matter. Also, its not like memphis lost because they had poor ft shooters chucking it. Rose and CDR both shoot over 70%( while not automatic, you can't label them poor free throw shooters.)

I would have stuck these kids in the gym until they found something out about their shot that they didnt know before. I know it's something that you are either good at or not, but, it's an art. I'm sure they could have polished a few of them up on it. When I was younger, my dad's friend taught me to keep my shooting elbow lined up with the basket. Somthing that I didnt know before that. It helped me immensly, and eventually changed the way that I shot the ball.

Calipari had to know that Kansas was going to "hack a shaq" if it came down to the nitty gritty. I guess he thought the athleticism that his team possesses would sweep his most obvious glaring problem beneath the rug...I'd throw them in the gym and tell them to make 15 out of 20 ft's each or they don't eat.. Something along the lines....

You think that they couldn't have gotten better using repetition and some sage advice? Bring Mark Price in to teach some of these kids...Kidding of course...

Memphis had the same problem as DaHoss's mom--they both choked on a.....well I am sure you know what they choked on.

However, it was a very good game.

The stat that stands out the most for me is that KU got 15 bench points and Memphis got 2. That is huge. And the foul to foul our Dorsey was just a dumb foul. No need for him to do that.

This is pretty shady, especially for someone that just lost a future bet on Memphis.

Karma is a bitch, remember that.

Remember that Free throws are as much mental as anything. You can shoot a million in practice but with the game on the line it is a different story. When your 1st team all american shooting guard and the number 2 pick in the upcoming draft point guard miss FT's in the last 20 seconds it is really hard to blame the coach.

They were shooting about 75% up until the last minute of the game. I think they were something like 12-16 or something like that. They just choked when it mattered. On the other hand, KU was 14 for 15 93% for the game.

That is being way overblown.

Neglected to look at it that way, but, your right. Legs buckle and arms dont fully extend when the game is on the line... I'm sure that they couldnt have fit a greased beebe in his mudslinger at the end there, it was so clenched..There's a reason that M Jordan wanted the ball every time in when teh game was on the line, he had ice in his veins...Kid has alley-gator blood (said in my best teddy KGB voice)

Dorsey. most of his fouls are dumb. He would not have been on the court much anyway since he makes Shaq look like Rick Barry at the line. He is 2/5 to win the NBDL slam dunk contest if they ever actually have one.
