All I get here is the Phillies and I love to root against them.....I'm sad Abreu is gone, him and Burrell are fun to watch suck.
Abreu hasn't been mediocre this year. He's ranked 5th in on-base percentage. Its just his power thats been declining.

That's a nice stat and all, if you're leading off, where he is in the lineup you need to look at % with runners on scoring position, and RBIs...we can agree to disagree, but I don't recall him in the all-star game this year.

Ok - so not being in the all-star game makes you mediocre. Wow and #1 and #2 hitters above .400 in OBP equals 1 (Derek Jeter - with Ichiro Suzuki at .399). Oh yes Ichiro batted in that nice #3 spot quite often - Production? 61 Runs and 65 Rbis at this time must not be good enough. As I look above his name, the other names are nothing to sneeze about.

What worries me with Abreu gone, what will happen to Ryan Howard's or Burrell's production? who goes in the 3 hole? Burrell or Howard?

No, not at all, my good friend is a Phils fan....and I looked it up and Abreu is batting .320 with runners in scoring position, which is pretty damn good. I guess I hear from him all the time that Abreu's hits come when they're not needed....when they're up or down big.

All I'm saying, NY isn't going to be any easier to play in than Philly....I rank them 1-2 as far as tough fans.

Abreu should be use to it then. LOL!
For this deal to happen, Philly sure needed to shed the money, and Sheffield must be worst off than what we are led to believe.

But Abreu is definitely good for use in the #3, #5, or #6 spot.

Still the Yanks need pitching

Shouldn't they have sent Sheff somewhere else for a couple months? Do they really want that moody btch around there anymore? Does seem like he will look upon this as "this guy is gunna be gettin' my money,"and "why do I gotta move to a different position" etc.??? Seems they could have paid his salary until whenever, and got Cincy or somebody to take him for a wildcard chase. Sheff ain't a party to be around.

Yanks just took Craig Wilson from the Pirates - thanks . I've been watching this buffoon strike out 2-3 times a game in Pittsburgh for the last five years or so. About time he's gone!!!
