I'm a little ignorant... what turf race was that? The pp's we get to bet on Dubai (at least at Canterbury Park in MN are pp's from maybe 5-6 of their past races, and no further back).

Curlin is better than Asiatic Boy at this point but I think Premium Tap will handle both of them.

his 2nd last race was versus Authorised and company over 10f in the Juddmonte. Didnt do too well, soft ground, Jamie Spencer was on board....

The time before that, on his European debut in the Sussex stakes, he ran a very decent race, a close 4th behind Ramonti. This was rated at least as good as his UAE Derby romp...

He's 6-1 to win the DWC here (Curlin is 7-4), which is plenty low enough. Id be more inclined to throw a bit on Latency at 25-1 instead..

Just to back up what i had said when i said BH was wrong, this is from Racing Post today...

Excerpt, Racing Post...

Burj Nahaar to act as World Cup prep for Asiatic

Asiatic Boy lands the UAE Derby

by Jason Ford

ASIATIC BOY, unbeaten in five starts in Dubai, will have his prep race for the World Cup in a 1m dirt race on the ‘Super Thursday' card on March 6.

The Group 3 Burj Nahaar is one of five Group races on a six-race card designed as trials for World Cup night itself.

Asiatic Boy scored over 6f on his reappearance two weeks ago at the carnival, where his four-race spree in 2007 culminated in a runaway victory in the UAE Derby.

Explaining his decision to go for the Burj Nahaar, trainer Mike de Kock said: “The concluding round of the Maktoum Challenge over the World Cup course and distance was the alternative but the mile of the Burj Nahaar will be perfect for his preparation.
