I almost bought Hal's Hope's Florida Derby saddle cloth off of E-bay for $285.

It wasn't until I was just about to place the winning bid with a few seconds to go when it hit me - what the hell am I going to do with a saddle cloth?

Anyway, that's how gutsy I thought Hal's Hope was in the FLA Derby ... I normally mock the people who would buy such things.

The best part about the HH saddle cloth was that Roger Velez hadn't signed it - that alone would have decreased it's value by about 900%
