It was on ESPN after the basketball game ended. Only went 10 mins into the coverage.

I saw almost all of the races on ESPNews or ESPN2. Missed only the Sprint.

Very good coverage of the Millions on HRTV today. They have really stepped up their coverage with the start of the Santa Anita meeting. A graphics and presentation upgrade has been welcomed. Gary Stevens and Laffit Pincay make an excellent team. I haven't watched 5 minutes of TVG since racing moved to Santa Anita. What a breath of fresh air their coverage is. No touting, and none of the BS that TVG puts out. If you don't have HRTV, find a way to get it.

I think it is pretty strange that these ridiculous races actually generate any coverage at all, while many G1s that actually ARE meaningful go uncovered during the rest of the year.
If you guys were really interested in watching these races and missed them because of ESPN's coverage, I feel bad for you, but what else do you expect from ESPN? They do this all the time, and in this case, I can't really blame them for sticking with basketball instead of switching to a Horse Racing "event" that even a lot of big horse racing fans couldn't care less about. |
