SERIOUS INJURIES CLEARED AT STAWELL
It has been confirmed by Racing Victoria Limited’s Welfare and Safety Co-ordinator, David Charles, that all jockeys involved in an incident during race nine at Stawell yesterday have been cleared of serious injury.

Caroline Mason, aboard Miss Hancock, was taken to Stawell hospital with concussion where she was held overnight. Pending test results, Caroline will be released from hospital today.

Christine Puls and Jamie Mott were also involved in the three-horse incident but only suffered bruising.

Mott’s mount, Filisi, suffered a fractured leg and was euthanised last night.

An enquiry into the incident was adjourned yesterday and will re-convene at the earliest possible convenience of all involved.

In a separate incident at Stawell during race seven, Wayne Hokai was dislodged from his mount, Black Albert, who faltered at the eight hundred metre mark before falling at the six hundred metre mark.

Veterinarians assessed Black Albert but could not find anything wrong.

Stewards on the day suspended Black Albert from any races or trials until further notice and referred the case to RVL’s veterinary team for further assessment.
