A huuuuge upgrade in the field, most definitely. But something better happen with his stick. I guess Dodgers brass is hanging their hats on the fact that he will be playing in a contract year fashion. His next pay day hangs in the balance of this here contract.

Chuck can sell, man.Important quality to have in his profession(dat commission b bitchin'.)Well, fact is his team didn't offer a contract, and that's cuz he doesn't give 100 %,and we don't need anybody else like that.Every time the Dodgers played the Braves,Scully would talk about how JONES' father told his son not to play "too hard." For somebody who has big hard-on for on base %,I am surprised he thinks he is a good signing. It's way too much jak for a guy who is not a winner.Every time we get a guy that others didn't want,we get the short end of the stick.Schmidt,Lowe,Kent,Drew,Pierre.....Stop picking up neighbors' trash. If they say they don't want that ****,then trust their opinion, and do something else. Before the season was over, they said they were not offering Andruw A CONTRACT....DUH...This was his contract year!! I don't want 2 contract years like that(paid for by charging a testicle for a beer.)"It's a better signing than Pierre" isn't a good reason to give this guy 36 mil.Almost every time I see this guy at bat he strikes out/pops up and quietly walks out to center(like he just took a wiz.)

In other words Jones a.k.a. Rob Deer is perfect for the team.
You have to admit though, no matter if he's Rob Deer or not, he's a major upgrade in CF. I just don't see why they want to trade Kemp. Maybe Ethier, but those 2 are definitely better than Pepe Le Pierre.

Still 3 starters n' pray in the other 2 games. Dumb fkrs. When you pay a guy 16 mil a year(who doesn't deserve it,) the chemistry will be nothing. If Kent doesn't retire,it will be less than freezing.

This is atleast $22 mil more than this guy is worth.I can see 7 mil a year for the defense, but this guy is not a winner(so any offensive skills are gunna be tempered by a guy only giving 80% effort.)

The guy is pure gold in the field.
He might save as many runs as their top RBI man gathers.
This is one guy I have watched a whole bunch... incredible fielder.
Let him hit the Ozzie Smith .222 lifetime and he is still worth watching in the field.

Excuse me,but why 16 mil a year? I just don't think anybody else would come near that offer. We blew 15 mil on Schmidt last year, but somebody else would have paid atleast 12 mil.Somebody put some dumb-fkr powder in this Coletti's pasta.

I never understand why you cant understand market value? If he got a long term deal he would have gotten less per year. But for him to sign a 2 year deal which is a gift for LA you have to give him something. I know hw was off last year but his previous 10 years were outstanding. What do you think that extra 4 million a year would have got them? a bad middle reliver? If the guy reverts to his usual form he will be a bargin.

Batting average is not that important when you are hitting 40 HR's a year.

Nobody does that when they come to LA........Forget that.If he hits 30 it's a miracle.Guys don't do **** when they come here. This is also why 16 mil is way too much.Guys don't perform offensively here.WTF you think we liked Beltre so much for? He actually hit for us that year.We never get that here. They shut it down when that uni goes on.

He will get his hits. Not important. HR's dont matter, in the 20's

It is the enormous number of runs he saves. CF is a huge position.
This is not a bunt and move the man manufacture runs with a single off the fist league anymore.
Balls are continuously crushed in Druw's realm. And more balls will stay in the park for A to run down.

So they should get rookies and guys with cheap contracts so they will have good chemistry? Insane thinking. Other players didnt like Kent because he was a dick, not because he makes a lot of money.

They should do like the Padres do,and atleast try to get value for their money(except for that retarded signing for 15 mil a couple years ago...Korean Pitcher ....so mediocre...and then bled on them.)

Comparing him to Rob Deer shows a fundemental lack of understanding of the greatness that was Rob "rein" Deer.
